This was a special project for Charitable Constructors due to it being our organization’s first project as a team!!

As you’ll notice from the project description above, there was a rather large scope of work to be completed on almost zero budget.  This was only possible due to the incredible work that our volunteers produced.  One of the most amazing observations of the volunteers was to hear them describe how unskilled they were at construction-type work but to see the incredible results of their efforts!  Absolutely amazing to witness.

Below, you will find two letters that we received from family members of the resident at this project’s house.  The gracious spirit that they brought to the team during the project was also a huge reason why the project ended in success.

Letter #1:

Dear Charitable Constructors,

It must have been lonely in Heaven last Saturday because all the angels were at my house.  They arrived early in the morning and worked all day under the planning and supervision of the very talented Chris Williams.

There aren’t enough words to express our gratitude – every time we said “thank you” the reply was usually “Thank you for letting us do this.”

The men seemed very happy and the work done was very professional.  We were impressed by the way they all worked as a team.  The St. Henry Men’s Club is to be commended for the many services they offer our parishioners and the community.

Thank you, thank you again.

With deep appreciation,

Letter #2:

Charitable Constuctors,

AGAIN….  Thank you so much for the special hard work and awesome efforts that went on over here this weekend.

Please share our deepest heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Mike for his approval of the concept to begin with and to all of the volunteers… All of the volunteers… Especially Sid who was truly one of the first to arrive and the last to leave three days later.  Without his work Momma very well may have fallen into the depths of the house from her rotten shower stall!  Truly!

Everyone worked so hard!  The spirit is very contagious and I am anxious to assist on the next project.

My family and I have some ideas about time and talent donations.

I am there for you on any level whatsoever just let me know where and when.

Most sincerely I wanted you to know that my father would have been one of the first volunteers for an effort like this.  He died suddenly in 1972 leaving Momma with five children and this big ol West Meade house.  It is unbelievable that my Mom has somehow kept it all of these years.  Truly you and your team of Angels helps to give her a few more years comfortably in this home that she has had to fight and struggle so many years to keep.  Thank you for that.  Thank you so much for that.

The day was perfect and executed very well and very professional.  We are so grateful.

God Bless you and thank goodness for volunteers….

Best Regards from (name omitted).
